Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Trees at Frequented California Shoreline
A chopper hovering near a well-attended coastal shoreline suddenly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm trees as onlookers looked on.
Recordings posted online capture the helicopter commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then plunging in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a steps close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters reported five people were taken to hospital including two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three persons on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their injuries were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
